Music is taught by a specialist teacher from Years 1 to 6. Infants receive two half hour lessons and Juniors one half hour lesson per week. Assessment is on a continuous basis but the Juniors also have one written test a year. End of year reports are used to show the children's level of effort and achievement.
Class teachers liaise with the music teacher when necessary to link music into topic work. On occasion these activities are included in class assemblies which are performed to parents. The Junior department also work together to perform one school production a year.
There are extra curricular music activities which vary according to the skills of the current teaching staff. These presently include keyboard, guitar and choir.
