Curriculum Merit System

The school runs a merit system to recognise and encourage effort by students. Merits are awarded not only for academic effort but also for participation in sporting activities, good manners, willingness to assist others etc.. Certificates are presented in assembly to Merit Winners twice each term.

House System

All students are allocated to one of three houses; Gulf, Sheraton, Oasis or Ramada. The houses compete against each other at sports events and for total merit marks, encouraging a healthy level of rivalry.

Communications

It is important parents take an active interest in the progress and achievements of their children at the school. This requires you not only discuss school with your child, but develop lines of communication with his/her teachers and the senior staff.

Parents' evenings are held at the end of every term, giving parents the opportunity to discuss the progress of their child in detail. In addition, all children receive a detailed written School Report at the end of the year.

The school also publishes a newsletter once per month. This helps to inform parents of the wide variety of activities going on around the school. A copy is sent home with each student - it can also be downloaded on the right.

Communications

The first point of contact for parents is the class teacher. This is the person who spends the most time with your child and should be able to answer any concerns you may have.
