HR OFFICER
QatarInternational School in Doha is seeking a Human Resources Officer to run their busy HR department, alongside one other member of staff. The successful candidate will be a native English speaker with a driving license, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have Human Resources experience, preferably within the Middle East, and be responsible for processes and procedures in relation to HR and Immigration.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Recording of leave/absence of all administration, IT, maintenance and security staff.
- Upkeep of personnel files and database with staff information, liaising with payroll in matters of salary and amendment of database with same.
- Re-orientation of new expatriate staff – organization of flights and accommodation, and the residency permit process (e.g. medical test, fingerprinting) in conjunction with the Immigration Officer.
- Responsibility for staff accommodation, in conjunction with the office manager and maintenance manager.
- Administration of staff contracts, letters, medical claims and immigration paperwork (residency permits, exit permits and work permits).

Teaching and Learning

Leading and Managing Staff
- By attending meetings and working with primary school , SMT and SEC ensure that all secondary staff follow local and school procedures for teacher registration.
- Contribute to the development of teacher appraisal scheme for QIS in the light of the above.
- Delegate to relevant staff members and organise teams, setting parameters and assessing their effectiveness.
- Agree targets for personal development with Head of Secondary.
Efficient and Effective Use of Staff and Resources
- Advise Head of Secondary on budgeting matters for staff development, pastoral matters, school development
- Ensure that facilities provide for student and staff welfare and safety within constraints of budget.
- Monitor and evaluate value for money and make recommendations for improvements
Accountability
- Work cooperatively with colleagues to improve standards and to contribute to the schools self-evaluation and improvement planning
- Ensure that parents/students are well informed about welfare matters, progress and expectations

- Have oversight of the inventory of resources for secondary (working with Finance department) and advise SLT on requirements for the future to make best use of resources available. Ensure that systems are followed when ordering.

Person Specification
This is a Senior Leadership role in a large, developing secondary school and requires a person with excellent and improving leadership skills to work in cooperation with a large team of teaching and support staff. It is essential that the Deputy is passionate about educational development in an international context and is able to communicate that passion respectfully within the culture of the school and the host country.
As a senior leader it is essential that the post holder embraces transformational leadership and works to ensure that this approach is firmly embedded in the school.
